Topline installs blow molding equipment to enhance color cosmetics

Topline Products, a cosmetics packaging company, has announced the installation of blow molding equipment at its plant in Michigan, with the hope of expanding its color cosmetics packaging.

According to Topline, the new manufacturing capability will enable it to produce bottles and other components for mascara and lip gloss color cosmetics products, offering its international customers both an Asian and North American base for product launches.

“By installing this new technology at our Michigan plant, we have enhanced our product profile in color cosmetics manufacturing,” said Charles Chang, Topline president.

Global reach

“We will now be able to serve our customers more responsively and efficiently with the capacity to offer mascara and lip product launches in China or North America. The new installation also reinforces our overall strategy toward continued growth as a worldwide leader in cosmetics packaging,” Chang continued.

The injection blow molding equipment will produce bottles for mascara and lip gloss cosmetics products.

After the color cosmetics components are fabricated in Michigan, they will be shipped to Topline’s Reynosa, Mexico plant, which was opened in May, for final assembly.

New operations means new personnel

The company plans to hire additional personnel for the new blow molding operations, according to Jim Adams, Topline vice president of manufacturing.

The Novapax blow molding equipment was purchased from Risdon International’s New York manufacturing facility and was delivered to the Topline Michigan plant in July.

Additional assets purchased from Risdon will operate decoration and automated wiper insertion functions. The Michigan plant already has the capability to manufacture caps, rods and wipers.
