Shiseido makes management change ahead of global growth plan

Shiseido has announced that it will appoint Hisayuki Suekawa as its president and CEO, replacing Shinzo Maeda, who will become chairman.

The skin care company made the decision in a special board of directors meeting held today and will implement the changes as of 1 April 2011.

The Japan-based firm, which is currently promoted in 83 countries, made the decision as it looks to get into a 'growth trajectory’ and becoming a global player which represents Asia.

“My intention is to further advance the reforms started by President Maeda. My top priority is to work tirelessly on the implementation of the new 3-Year Plan,” said Suekawa.

“Furthermore, to establish Shiseido as a global corporation in both name and substance, I plan to build close relationships with all stakeholders to develop Shiseido into an even greater force in the world,” he added.
