Due to be released in November 2011, the Ultrasonic Beauty Device Handy Mist will be sold as part of a set package with the AquaLabel moisture lotion.
Being targeted at the Japanese market, Shiseido has commented on the popularity of mobile beauty devices in Japan, which women can easily carry around, having attracted a great deal of attention.
Additionally, apparently Panasonic is planning to expand its beauty device range through developing products for women with dry skin concerns.
Shiseido has created a special 30ml size of its AquaLabel moisture lotion for the beauty device.
Skin care beauty devices
In a recent interview with CosmeticsDesign.com, research company Kline’s Industry manager for consumer products, Karen Doskow, shared her thoughts on the skin care beauty devices market, which she states has seen up to a 50 per cent growth.
She went on further to state that this growth was unparalleled, as there were not many other markets within the cosmetics industry with such strong results.
Moreover, according to industry expert Doskow, skin care devices on the market generally dealt with the facial area, to take care of major skin care concerns such as acne, anti-aging and cleansing.
She also pointed out that most devices were used at home, hand-held and battery-operated.
Compact and portable
The beauty device is 14cm long, battery powered and contains a tank which can be filled up with Shiseido’s AquaLabel moisture lotion.
Turning on the device, once the tank has been filled, will release a spray of fine mist through an ultrasonic micro vibrating mesh.
The amount of mist released can be controlled by switching to a high or low setting, and can be applied to the face, neck and shoulders as well as other body areas.
Panasonic is currently still in the process of developing the product, which is being commercialised along with Shiseido’s moisture lotion together.
