Nivea skin care maker Beiersdorf has been busy as it looks to drive market growth with a reshuffle of its board and appointment of new managers.
Ümit Subaşı is leaving the company in amicable agreement to pursue new ventures, having aided Beiersdorf’s growth in the merging market.
As of July 1, 2012, 44 year old Stefan De Loecker will become the corporate senior vice president with responsibility for the Near East region, including Russia, Turkey, the Middle East, Africa, and India.
Patrick Kaminski (43) has also recently taken over as corporate senior vice president responsible for the operating business in the Far East region, including China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Australia.
More brand changes
Over at L’Oréal, Stephan Bezy has been named international general manager of Yves Saint Laurent and now joins the management committee of L’Oreal Luxe.
Nathalie Duran has also been appointed to the position of international general manager of Desigers Fragrances brands and also joins the management committee of L’Oreal Luxe, having joined the company in 1995.
Kanebo Cosmetics has announced that Masumi Natsusaka is to become the new president and representative director of the company, leaving his current role as president of the Beauty Care Business Unit of Kao Corporation.
Natsusaka will replace Tadashi Uematsu, who will retire with effect from 20 June 2012, after the resolutions of the company’s Annual General Meeting of shareholders and the meeting of the Board of Directors.
Shiseido-owned beauty brand Nars Cosmetics has appointed Dafna Ross as Communications & Makeup Artist Relations manager.
Ross joins following at stint at Estee Lauder-owned cosmetics company Bobbi Brown as Communications and Artistry executive.
Departures and new appointments
Kim Buckland, the co-founder of Liz Earle, has announced that she will be leaving the company in the autumn, following CEO John Buckland, who also announces his decision to leave the company after overseeing its acquisition by Avon in 2010.
Over at specialty chemicals company AkzoNobel, Ton Büchner has been appointed as member of the Board of Management by the shareholders and was duly appointed as CEO by the Supervisory Board.
At the same time, Hans Wijers stepped down from his position as CEO and member of the Board of Management.
Finally, J. Erik (Erik) Fyrwald has joined Univar as president and CEO. Fyrwald, age 52, was president of Ecolab a global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies that merged with Nalco in December 2011. He will also become a member of Univar's board of directors.
