Delisens is a novel hexapeptide said to relieve itching or discomfort in sensitive skin while helping it recover its physiological tolerance threshold.
The ingredient is claimed to modulate the activity of Proteinase-Activated Receptor 2 (PAR-2), involved in the processing of pruritic and/or inflammatory signals, thus attenuating neurogenic inflammation.
According to Lipotec, in vitro tests showed that after application of a cream containing a 4 percent Delisens solution, the release of inflammatory cytokines induced by cosmetic allergens was reduced by 58.2 percent.
In in vivo tests, 88 percent of subjects applying a cream containing a two per cent Delisens solution witnessed a decrease in the intensity of both redness and itching (induced by a 10 percent lactic acid solution) after one week of treatment, Lipotec said.
Telangyn to reduce facial redness
Claiming to lessen the appearance of facial redness, Telangyn is a tetrapeptide said to work by reducing the levels of interleukins IL-6 and IL-8, which are induced by the antimicrobial peptide LL-37 that is abnormally high in skin disorders such as rosacea.
Following four weeks of treatment with a cream containing a 2 percent Telangyn solution, erythematic intensity was found to have decreased by 19.2 percent, skin redness declined by 17.7 percent and skin roughness decreased by 7.5 percent according to Lipotec.
The company notes that Telangyn also helps to improve skin elasticity, firmness and evenness of skin tone thanks to its ability to reduce the degradation of collagen and its anti-tyrosinase activity.
Hanify to boost hyaluronic acid synthesis
Also at in-cosmetics Asia, Lipotec will be showcasing Hanify, a marine-based ingredient that scooped bronze in the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award at in-cosmetics in Barcelona earlier this year.
Hanify is an exopolysaccharide claimed to boost the synthesis of hyaluronic acid in the skin and provide a replenishing effect against wrinkles, meaning it is particularly suitable for skincare formulations targeting mature skins according to Lipotec.
The company notes that in vivo tests showed that after twice-daily application of a cream containing 1 per cent Hanify solution, nasogenian folds decreased by 14.7 percent after 14 days and 18.5 percent after 28 days.
