Cosme Tech 2013 lifts lid on the huge Japan market

One of Japan's biggest yearly industry events, Cosme Tech 2013, will again open its doors in Tokyo at the end of June, showcasing both Japanese and international innovations.

The three day event starts on June 26th at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition hall, and is billed as the only international B2B event held for the cosmetics industry in Japan.

Incorporating both the Cosme Tech show, now in its fourth year, together with the Cosme Tokyo event, now in its second year, organisers Reed Exhibitions Japan are forecasting a 70 per cent increase on exhibitors compared to last year, which means the show is expected to include around 550 companies and in excess of 30,000 visitors.

Cosmetics Design editorial team covering the show

This year the Cosmetics Design editorial team will also be attending the event, and will be bringing extensive coverage of the conference programme, product launches and the latest trends to appear.

What is also interesting about the event is that it is billed as a one-stop-shop for the industry, covering not only the ingredients and packaging elements, but also a host of finished products.

Japan has long been known for high quality and very innovative products and has invariably been an international showcase for the industry as a whole.

Besides the two concurrently run shows, the event is divided into ten clear zones, all depicting a specific aspect of the industry, including bath and body, hair and scalp and skin care zones.

Cosme Tech 2013: ingredients, packaging, OEMS

Cosme Tech 2013 will again be focused on the latest innovations in the areas from ingredients, packaging and OEM companies, highlighting the technical and scientific strengths that the Japanese industry is known for.

Highlighted manufacturers in this area will include Nihon Kolmar, Japan's leading player in the industry's OEM market, as well as its major rival Cosmescience - a company gaining attention for it's expertise in the anti-ageing area.

Major packaging players will also be evident, including Honda Plus, known for its blow forming technology, together with Tsujikawa, which has established a reputation for gold embossing technology.

Meanwhile, the Cosme Tokyo 2013 will highlight some of the most innovative and trend-setting finished products about to hit the market, with two key trends expected to really set the place buzzing this year, the organic and anti-ageing zones.
