in-cosmetics Asia readies for next big show in Bangkok

One of the biggest events in the Asian cosmetics industry, in-cosmetics Asia, is due to open its doors again in Bangkok at the end of October.

 Organisers Reed Exhibitions say that the event will open its doors at the BITEC venue in Bangkok, Thailand, from 29 – 31 of October, providing a major platform for both the Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific ingredients industry.

Building on the success of previous events, and continued growth, the organisers say that this year the event is expected to be bigger than ever, and will benefit from a number of innovations and new features, together with an extended innovation programme.

New packaging zone

Those new features will include a new product trail focusing on hot topics such as skin whitening and anti-ageing, a free business matchmaking series and a packaging zone that will target this all-important area for the first time.

The Cosmetics Design team will also be at the event, with the editorial team providing all the news about the latest product launches and technological innovations, as well as the highlights from the educations programme.

With the Asia Packfic market growing rapidly every year, the share it carves out of the global market continues to expand, and is expected to reach an impressive 28 percent by 2014, according to Euro Monitor.

Look to Asia for innovation

This expansion has also led to an increasing spend on research and development throughout the region, which, combined with consumer demand, is helping to fuel a significant rise in the amount of product innovation that is coming out of the region.

Indeed, Asian cosmetic industry show have become a platform for many of the leading global trends in recent years, with the likes of BB, CC and now DD creams taking the world by storm, as well as skin care whitening and product also making its mark.

Reflecting this, Reed Exhibitions claims that for in-cosmetics Asia 2013, exhibitor numbers are already up 35 per cent compared to last year with suppliers from South Korea up as much as 77 per cent and those from China 43 per cent.

Reflecting the growth of the South Korean industry, the show floor will this year including a South Korea Country Pavilion and will also feature a market trends presentation and South Korea Product Trail featuring selected ingredients and technologies from the country.
