Gattefossé launches new ingredient targeting blotchy combination skin
Meeting China regulations for cosmetic ingredients, Cytobiol Iris A2 will be launched at the forthcoming in-cosmetics Asia event in Bangkok, Thailand, which opens its doors for three days from October 28, and is a showcase for the region's cosmetic ingredients segment.
Oily and combination skin is a problem that affects many individuals in the region and one that is often exacerbated by the hot and humid weather condition and the many tropical and sub-tropical parts of the region.
Targeting oily combination skins and blemishes
Likewise, Gattefossé has also identified the fact this type of skin is also susceptible to be dull, with open, visible pores, leading to an uneven and blotchy complexion.
To target these skin problems and to ultimately help improve the complexion Cytobiol Iris A2 combines a purifying iris extract with seboregulator vitamin A and zinc salt.
According to the company, the combination of these three active ingredients ‘purifies the skin, reducing comedones and blocked pores, which in turns reduces the main symptoms for a blotchy skin, ultimately leading to a clearer complexion.
Clinical trials underline efficacy
The company also says that its trials have shown that whiteheads, blackheads and inflammatory lesions such as spots and pimples are reduced, giving a clear comedolytic which is said to have been confirmed by a dermatologist.
Further testing using the Visiopor method also showed that the colonization of bacteria in pores is significantly reduced, while a Visoface clinical trial of the ingredient also revealed a visible pore refining effect derived from a reduced pore size.
Gattefossé is giving a presentation at the event as part of the innovation seminar programme, which will take place on October 29th, at mid-day, while the company will also be highlighting the ingredient on its booth, D41.
