Construction has now begun on the new continuous extraction facility, which the company says will help to increase production capacity of extracted ingredient by approximately 200%.
The building will stand next to the company’s existing continuous extraction facility where construction got under way last month, overseen by the company’s founder, Dr. Muhammed Majeed.
Increasing capacity, while reducing impact
Dr. Majeed explained how the construction is part of the company’s effort to increase it sustainability and limit the environmental impact of the business overall.
"While we are primarily known for investing heavily in science and IP, we clearly also invest in insuring a sustainable supply of our proprietary ingredients to the marketplace," he said.
“Our farm cultivation program was the first part of the sustainability endeavor, and this expansion is part two."
Facility due for completion mid-2014
The facility is 75,000 square feet and will have a 25 MT per day capacity from the continuous extractor once it reaches full capacity.
It also includes a 15,000 square foot down stream area, a microbiology lab and a 45,000 square foot warehouse and is expected to be completed in mid-2014.
