Luxe Pack Shanghai set to grow by 25%

This year’s Luxe Pack Shanghai event is set to have 25% more exhibitors, including 150 companies, when the event opens its doors at the Shanghai Exhibition Center (SEC) on April 16th.

The two-day event, which is the 7th of its kind in China, will be held at the SEC for the first time, where the organiser says that venue is better suited for the expanded exhibitor requirements.

The event has continued to grow each year, but this year marks a particularly big leap, one that reflects the way that the Asian cosmetics and fragrance market has shifted towards ‘more up-scale and creative packaging’.

The event has traditionally been a meeting place for both Western and Asian companies to network and exchange ideas, while the extended conference and event programme has continued to keep industry professionals one step ahead of the game.

New exhibitors drive the event's growth this year

This year a considerable amount of increase in exhibitor numbers has come from companies that are exhibiting for the first time at the event, with the organisers claiming that to date 20 companies will make the exhibitor debut.

Those new companies are mainly from China, and include names such as Eiwa Box, Elite Brand Image, Samding Craftwerk, Lux F, Easy Box, Arts & Crafts and Ningbo Rainbow International.

The event will also boast the biggest conference programme to date, with presentations including: "Understanding luxury transformations in China and other new ideas" by the Marketing Research Department of Metis Jujing, together wtih "Design packaging, when the East meets the West" by the founders of the Pentawards.

Continued emphasis on all things green

Likewise, there will also be a continued emphasis on green packaging, with the presentation "When sustainability meets luxury" by Citizen Luxury, really focusing in on the still very important area for the industry.

Still on the green theme, another particular highlight of the event programme will include the Luxe Pack in green prize, which will be given to recognise the best eco design innovation presented by exhibitors at this year’s event.

The award will be judged by a six-strong panel of industry experts and professionals that will include Damien Parenteau, purchasing & development director for Chanel China and Frédéric Liberman, general manager, Asia Pacific operations for the Yves Rocher Group.
