Henkel beauty business moves into newly opened Shanghai center

Henkel’s beauty care business based in Asia will move into its new home at the company’s new Management Center which opened in Shanghai this week.

The new facility means that more than 300 staff, all from different business units and functions within the company, including Corporate Communications, Purchasing, HR and Finance as well as the Beauty Care business unit, will move into the new modern office complex, which is located in the city’s fast-growing Yangpu district.

This location is also only 30 minutes away from the firm’s Zhangjiang headquarters, which Henkel states will remain a key strategic location for its China and Asia-Pacific operations.

What’s it like?

With a new office comes a chance to incorporate new ideas and have a fresh start, and with this in mind, Henkel says the Shanghai workplace has been designed “to encourage a culture of cooperation and transparency, and features a variety of workspaces.”

Set on the 5th and 6th floor of the building, with a 7th floor expected to be opened at the end of the year, the office will have a number of focus rooms for individual or one-to-one work, as well as meeting rooms for groups of varying sizes.

Henkel also confirms there will be less formal collaboration areas where employees can gather to exchange ideas and connect with colleagues from around the world.

As is always important, there will be a place to relax and to have a tea break located on both floors, whilst every employee in the building was also given a welcome package on their desk, which had information and an introductory message in.

A digital signage system has also been installed to inform employees about the latest news.

Location, location, location

And as for the setting… the building is located on land with a creek and peaceful walkways, a variety of restaurants and good transport links, which Henkel says will help “to recharge employees’ batteries.”

“The new Henkel Management Center will become an important base for the company as Henkel looks to grow its business in China and the Asia-Pacific region,” says the manufacturer.
