Lipotec acknowledged by Asian cosmetic scientists for 're-inspiring beauty'
During the 12th Biannual Conference in Cairns, Australia the ingredients supplier won the Lester Conrad Best Paper Award.
The event is highly regarded for the cosmetics industry in the Asia Pacific region, bringing together cosmetic chemists from across the region for a series of conferences, workshops and networking opportunities.
'Re-inspiring Beauty'
Lipotec's Dr. Silvia Pastor picked up the award after delivering a presentation on the company's research: 'Improving cellular cross-talk to fight skin ageing'.
Pastor has a PhD in Experimental Immunology and Immunopathology, and recently joined the new business development department at Lipotec.
According to the ASCS panel, after reviewing numerous papers in the area of cosmetics and toiletries, preference was given to original work that related to the underlying theme of the conference; “Natural Wonders, Re-inspiring Beauty”.
Lipotec is on a roll of late, having taken home the Gold for 'Best Ingredient' at in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok late last year.
The marine ingredient, Actigym was acknowledged for redefining areas sensitive to sagging due to ageing or insufficient physical activity such as abdomen, arms and thighs, by mimicking the effect of endurance exercise.
The Best Ingredient Award honours the development of novel actives or functional ingredients that combine scientific excellence, formulation benefits for manufacturers and efficacy for consumers.
It was coming…
Having won the Silver Award in Asia in 2013 and the Bronze Award at in-cosmetics in Hamburg in 2014, these wins are a great next step for the company.
“We are absolutely delighted. The market in Asia is very dynamic and we feel it's important to test new products in this region. If it's successful in Asia it will be successful across the rest of the world," says Dr Juan Carlos Escudero, General Manager of Lipotec.
