In the last decade, Clariant has invested in production sites and offices in more than 19 of China's cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Panjin, Tianjin, Huizhou and Taipei.
According to the specialty chemicals supplier, improvements in the standard of living and economic growth in Greater China offers great potential for the company to develop its' business.
"Clariant is leveraging its' rich international experience and expertise in quality, safety and sustainability to help to upgrade the chemical industry in China to the next level," says Jan Kreibaum, regional president of Clariant, Greater China.
Thus, keeping on top of stricter legal requirements and regulations in the chemical industry and increased awareness on environmental and sustainability issues is key.
“Much of [our] success is based on our extensive insights of our local markets as well as our ability to identify upcoming trends and new customer needs at an early stage, and then develop innovative and efficient solutions to match these,” adds Kreibaum.
Other accomplishments in the region for Clariant includes its' cosmetics ingredients site in Tangerang, Indonesia in 2013.
It was the firm’s eighth location to be awarded the Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.
To date, Clariant has been accredited with the global ISO 22716 Cosmetics GMP certification for eight of its' cosmetic ingredient production sites including Brazil, China, Germany, Indonesia, Spain and USA since December 2012.
