According to the international solutions company, the 'Coptis Labs' software enables the cosmetic industry to efficiently manage development projects, reduce time to market and improve the quality and reliability of information.
The application claims to ensure optimal global regulatory compliance, the customization of formula reports and the generation of the Cosmetic Dossier (Product Information File, PIF) for cosmetic manufacturers, toxicology and testing companies, universities, consultants and quality control laboratories.
Jonathan Coeur at Coptis told CosmeticsDesign-Asia.com that the France headquartered company founded in 1999, is seeing an influx of interest from Asia of late.
"We've done a lot of business in South Korea and China recently. To date, eight hundred labs in Guangzhou and 500 in Shanghai could optimize raw material data management through our package," Coeur tells this publication.
As the software evolves, so has the service Coptis provides to the industry with versions of its packages now available in French, Italian and most recently, Mandarin.
Innovative thinking
The company originally established under the name 'Cosmetic Data', later changed its name to 'Advisance' and finally to Coptis, a name derived from a Chinese herb.
When the package came onto the market in the 90's, Coptis claims it was the first to cater to the needs of manufacturers in the form of software solutions, both on formulation and regulatory aspects as well as being open to the industry's input.
Today, the ambitious firm has developed additional software solutions to help the sector; Coptis Tab and Coptis Ingredients.
Coptis Tab is a mobile module synchronized with Coptis Lab, using a Tablet connected to Laboratory measurement devices (scale, scanner, etc…) which claims that formulators can manage specific R&D data at the bench.
Coptis Ingredients is a database developed through partnerships with cosmetic suppliers which lists more than 14,000 cosmetic raw materials under thirty categories vital to formulators and regulatory and is frequently updated with an average of 1,000 cosmetic raw materials each year.
