Second edition of Personal Care India Expo opens this month
The event will take place between 22 – 24th of August at Pragati Maidan and will showcase exhibitors from a cross section of the industry, including personal care, cosmetics and home care ingredients, as well as packaging and machinery suppliers.
Organised by UBM, the event has received support from the Fragrances & Flavours Association of India (FAFAI), The Indian Home & Personal Care Industry Association (IHPCIA), and Essential oil association of India (EOAI), which has also served to help boost the profile.
The three-day event is billed by the organiser as enabling businesses to develop and grow in India’s vibrant and rapidly growing market, which with respect to the cosmetics and personal care industry is one of the fastest growing in the world.
Fast market growth
Indeed, such is the speed of growth in the country, that in 2015 GDP growth of 7.5% meant that India surpassed China’s 6.9% economic growth rate, with a 1.3 billion population underlining the continued potential for business expansion in this vast and still relatively underdeveloped market.
For the cosmetics and personal care market, this means a burgeoning class that is experimenting with increasingly sophisticated products, alongside a trickle-down effect that is seeing high-demand in the mass market as consumers expand their personal care regimes to include new products.
According to market research company Mintel, there will be double-digit gains across most beauty and personal care categories in the course of the next five years, pointing to opportunities across the board.
Show will highlight opportunities
UBM has divided the show floor into a number of principle segments, which include cosmetics ingredients, raw material and contract manufacturing, packaging and machinery, ayurveda and nutraceuticals ingredients.
On top of this, the event will also include a comprehensive conference programme, which will include gulatory, global market trends, standardisation of cosmeceutical and dermaceutical products and formulating sun care products.
UBM says that the show floor highlights will include a ‘Beauty Zone’, a new feature in the expo that will be an exclusive B2B section with zones dedicated to end products from cosmetics & toiletries, natural health, packaging & OEM.
Event grows alongside industry expansion
“The Indian personal care ingredients industry has taken rapid strides in the last few years, as more and more personal care products incorporate specialty ingredients in their formulation,” Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said.
“Amidst this market boom, UBM India’s 2nd edition of Personal Care India Expo will provide an industry platform to Indian and global buyers and sellers from personal care ingredients, machinery and packaging industry to meet, network, understand the needs of the consumers and grow their business.”
