Held in the BITEC event space in Bangkok, between 8 – 10 November, the show has been newly expanded to reflect the fast pace of growth in the leading markets, with India and China still accounting for the most growth in the beauty market.
However, massive economic development in Indonesia means that the beauty market there is currently recording the fastest pace of growth in the world, while Japan still accounts for one fifth of a total beauty market.
Asia Pacific market set to grow by 25% to 2020
And according to Euromonitor, it will be the activity in these major markets that will drive growth of approximately 25% over the course of the next four years, making the value of the market US$167bn by 2020.
“Our ambition is that finished product manufactures and R&D professionals leave in-cosmetics Asia with a clear idea of how they will create the next generation of products,” said Sarah Gibson, Exhibition Director of in-cosmetics Asia.
“The 2016 event will present the latest ingredients, raw materials and formulations, from across the globe, alongside a programme of seminars that will deliver invaluable technical information, regulatory advice and marketing trends.”
Trends and regulations
Trends are what drive the fast-paced beauty market worldwide, and it is regulations that govern how these trends develop in individual markets, and this is what will consistently emphasised in the event’s comprehensive educations programme.
One of the highlights of the programme will be a presentation from Euromonitor research analyst Joanna Chan, who will be highlighting all the main trends in the region, as well as pointing to some of the markets that still have the most potential for future growth.
Meanwhile, Tommy Kong, general manager of the Cosmetics Division of REACH24H Consulting will provide the latest update on the often complex regulatory landscape in the all-important China market.
Spotlight On… pollution, halal and France
On the subject of pollution, Lucy Whitehouse, Editor for the Cosmetics Design Group, will be giving a presentation on one of the hottest topics in the Asia Pacific region right now: Pollution. Lucy’s presentation will look at where the trend is picking up and what type of products are on offer to consumers.
Indeed, the anti-pollution and halal themes will be flagged up on the new in-cosmetics Asia Spotlight On… product areas, where all the latest ingredients and formulations to target these trends will be highlighted.
The Spotlight On… zone will also highlight innovations from one of the most fast-paced and forward thinking markets in the world, France, and the trends will be showcased in a presentation by speaker and journalist Laurence Wittner from L'Observatoire des Cosmétiques who will highlight the hottest product launches from the country in a marketing trends presentation.
On top of spotlighting the biggest trends, the show floor will also platform the latest formulation advances with live demonstration in the Formulation Lab, as well as latest developments in fragrances at the Fragrance Zone and then what’s new at the Testing & Regulation Zone.
