Luxe Pack Shanghai 2017: Exploring culture and new technologies

The 10th anniversary of the creative packaging event will take place on 12th-13th April 2017 at Shanghai Exhibition Centre, China.

To mark a decade in packaging design and innovation, the theme of Luxe Pack Shanghai 2017 will centre focus on coupling with new technologies.

Brands from around the world will gather to see China’s latest innovative technologies, on-trend packaging exclusives and source solutions that overcome modern technical difficulties.

Throughout the two-day show, conferences and events will centre on how China’s technical knowledge can best be applied to evolving packaging technologies and will give visitors an insight into what the future has in store for imaginative packaging that appeals to consumer trends.

Head on over…

Luxe Pack Tech Hub will be a key feature at next year’s event. The area will focus on how technical advancement is transforming the premium packaging industry.

It will take a look at how new digital solutions such as augmented reality, 3D printing, digital printing, authentication and traceability systems and connected technology will influence the APAC packaging industry.

As brands seek cutting-edge creations, designs and innovations that utilise smart technology and develop artistry, companies strive to find new uses for packaging or those that offer consumers a never-before-seen experience.

The event, which aims to marry the region’s traditions with innovative packaging technologies, will also launch Luxe Pack Innovation Wall in 2017. The hall of fame will demonstrate up to date concepts and solutions that span the entire packaging sector.

In 2017, there will be a specific emphasis on those innovations and developments that concentrate on sustainability. Luxe Pack’s green award will be given to those brands engaging in responsible initiatives and products that drive sustainable efforts forward.

The Trends Incubator will return for a second year to give exhibitors and attendees a sneak peek at future packaging trends in China.

Reflecting this year’s theme of pairing Chinese culture with new technologies, the 2017 Incubator, which has teamed up with Centdegres agency, will provide information on China’s packaging legacy, international industry trends and sector segments set to make an impact.

Chinese packaging market

Market analyst, Euromonitor International, reports that in recent years, China has witnessed higher demand for beauty and personal care products, therefore leading to a rise in competitive packaging creations.

The growing middle class demographic in China has seen a number of developments emerge in the packaging sector including diversified packaging options that vary in format and size, increased convenience and design availability and embracing the multifunctional trend to ensure it starts from the minute shoppers pick the product up off the shelf.

As the emergence of masstige brands continues, companies are looking to expand their product ranges to appeal to today’s innovation-seeking consumers.
