Shiseido scoops coveted Marie Claire award

Japanese beauty front runner, Shiseido, picks up the renowned Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté accolade for its smart Synchro skin lasting liquid foundation.

The foundation is the latest to be added to the multinational personal care brand’s existing range and has been entering global markets for almost two years.

Global acclaim

Marie Claire’s Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté is an international and prestigious beauty award prized by the French beauty and fashion magazine Marie Claire. Since 1985, it has been presented annually to products deemed “future best-sellers” and those that demonstrate “innovation, efficiency, audacity and pleasure”, Marie Claire states.

The 2016 edition of the annual award was formally bestowed to Shiseido on the 4th January 2017 at the accompanying Prix d'Excellence Marie Claire 2017 ceremony, marking the 31st anniversary of the coveted prize-giving.

Shiseido’s recent product aims to optimise the skin’s complexion by helping to improve frequent skin issues. With the brand choosing to formulate the foundation with advanced sensing technology that strives to create sophisticated synchronisation with the skin’s condition, it responds to a variety of skin concerns and assists in controlling light and glow.

In a move to maximise its brand reputation for innovation, Shiseido’s Syncro skin lasting liquid foundation is the first in a selection of planned cutting-edge creations that will be revealed by the cosmetics leader in the not too distant future.

Consistent innovation

The 2016 award marks the third consecutive year that Shiseido has won Marie Claire’s annual Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté, with the company’s sunscreen with unique wetforce technology reaching award status in 2015 and its Ultimune power infusing concentrate beauty essence taking the win in 2014. In total, Shiseido has picked up the famed nod twelve times.

Each year, a group of respected journalists from the world of beauty and fashion are tasked with voting for new beauty and cosmetics releases based their innovativeness, efficacy, usability, packaging, along with a balance between quality and price.
