PCHi 2017 achieves record-breaking numbers with event firsts

This year’s Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) trade show, organised by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE), witnessed record-breaking numbers at its 10th-anniversary event.

Highest numbers yet

A total of 507 global exhibitors, over 2,734 conference delegates and 18,972 unique visitors — compared to 15,292 in 2016 — entered the doors of the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Centre, in China.

The 2017 conference programme welcomed 2,734 visitors over three days and also saw 125 experts delivering information and insights across 17 sessions on rules and regulations, technologies, packaging and market trends.

“It is a privilege to be able to create a platform that encourages knowledge exchange and networking opportunities through our show activities,” commented Joe Zhou, Vice-President at RSE.

New conference sessions

As PCHi repositions itself to appeal directly to a wider variety of international and domestic exhibitors and visitors, the 2017 event saw some new additions to the personal care and ingredients platform.

For the first time, bilingual sessions were on offer at this year’s event to reflect its ever-growing international audience.

In addition, baby care, dermo-cosmetics and natural extracts, Chinese herbs and essential oil technologies were new areas explored this year.

Forums on science and technology in cosmetics for Chinese youth, as well as chemical technology innovation under the industrial internet made their way onto the conference programme this year.

Handing out awards

This year marked the event’s inaugural Fountain awards to celebrate consumer care, performance technologies and active ingredients.

In addition, the annual Booth Awards bestowed several rewards for Best Communications, Best Booth Design and Best Product Presentation.

“PCHi is a superb platform for the industry to source for raw ingredients. The continual push for progress is important for our industry, and I feel that PCHi has been able to help steer the industry towards this path,” added Huang Yu Han, Market Operations, General Manager at Zhuhai United Laboratories - the winner of PCHi 2017 Best Booth Award.

PCHi 2018

With distributors, cosmetic chemists and industrial formulators present, their attention now turns to next year’s event.

Commenting on PCHi’s 10th anniversary, Zhou added: “The success of PCHi is due to many factors – the event’s ability to constantly introduce new and exciting initiatives to ‘recharge’ the industry, the guidance from industry associations and technical experts, the support from our loyal exhibitors and visitors, and the tireless efforts of the RSE team.”

“PCHi has made great strides since its debut in 2008, and we will continue to build upon past successes to offer our audience more creative and targeted editions. We have every confidence that PCHi 2018 in Shanghai will be a roaring success!”
