China Jo-Jo opens three new retail health shops
China Jo-Jo Drugstores has opened three stores in the city of Hangzhou, China. The pharmacy chain focuses on retail, wholesale and online distribution and sales of pharmaceutical and health care products.
These new stores, which are located in the Chengnan District, Dingqiao District and the Xiasha District, complement the chain’s existing online and retail pharmacies.
The next stage
As of 26th October 2017, the China Jo-Jo Drugstores had 98 retail pharmacies in Zhejiang Province. As the company approaches its 100-store milestone, it is placing more emphasis on reaching this number in Hangzhou in the not-too-distant future.
"We are pleased to expand our retail presence in Chengnan, Dingqiao, and Xiasha districts of Hangzhou," revealed Liu Lei, Chairman and CEO of the Company.
"Our mission is to make pharmacy solutions effective and accessible for our customers, so we look forward to providing high-quality and convenient purchase options to more customers in Hangzhou."
The beauty and pharmacy story
Equipped with a full-service pharmacy, staffed by licensed pharmacists and pharmacy staff, China Jo-Jo's new stores feature prescription and OTC medicines, traditional Chinese medicines, dietary supplements, and medical devices.
Health and beauty products including many popular brands are also a prominent feature in the brand’s stores.
Along with accepting Hangzhou municipal health insurance at the new store in Dingqiao District, the China Jo-Jo retailer offers a specific rewards programme that offers exclusive discounts and boosts customer experience.
China and South Korea
Increasingly, the beauty and pharmaceutical industries are experiencing overlaps, as cosmetics labels appear in retail drug stores.
In April 2017, South Korean retail chain CVS pharmacy revealed that it was launching its K-beauty HQ initiative. This decision saw the brand’s e-commerce and physical stores welcome 100+ products from South Korean skin care company and beauty brands.
In addition, in 2016, leading UK-based pharmacy chain, Boots, owned by Walgreen Boots Alliance, entered into a franchise partnership with Emart Group (a member of Shinsegae Group) to launch in South Korea.
This rising presence produces greater opportunities for cosmetics names to boost their brand awareness to previously untapped audiences.
