Cosmoprof Asia achieves record-breaking numbers

2017's "One Fair, Two Venues" edition sees 9% growth compared to its 2016 instalment.

The launch of Cosmopack Asia, held at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 14 to 16 November, alongside Cosmoprof Asia in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 15 to 17 November, saw more visitors than ever come through its doors.

Providing insights and networking opportunities for the beauty industry in the Asia-Pacific region, Cosmopack Asia welcomed buyers, distributors, suppliers and retailers from a multitude of global beauty segments.

2017 results

A total of 83,793 beauty professionals from 135 countries and regions visited the two fair venues, representing an attendance rise of 9% compared with last year.

Ever-popular with Asia audiences

By analysing individual country visits, we can see that Japan, Australia and China registered the highest double-digit growth strides, with 24%, 22% and 20%, respectively. Singapore's 15%, Indonesia's 14% and Korea's 14% gains also indicated their success. Taiwan and the US also made it into the top ten country visits with double-digit growth of 11%. In addition, Thailand and the Philippines demonstrated steady growth by their positioning in the top 10 lineup.

This year’s event saw Korea as the show's Country of Honour, showcasing its latest trending cosmetic developments and novelties, more commonly referred to around the world as 'K-beauty'.

"This year's expansion of Asia Pacific's most popular and extensive beauty industry expo to two venues has opened up the potential for more cutting-edge products, services and packaging trends to reach the region's growing network of buyers, distributors, suppliers and retailers," noted Michael Duck, Executive Vice President at UBM Asia and Director at Cosmoprof Asia.

"Cosmoprof Asia's new format across two different product areas has allowed a greater insight into both the industrial reality and finished products, making the Cosmoprof brand even stronger," observed Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere.
