This year's submissions have been very strong across all categories, but we definitely want to see even more entries from ingredients and formulations players as a means of discovering the advances will be driving the finished products of the future.
The final deadline for the competition is set for Monday, February 26th, so that leaves less than two weeks for the last few submissions to be received.
Why ingredients companies should be submitting
Research and development professionals that work within the cosmetics and personal care industry form the bulk of our readership, alongside top-level decision makers at management level, which makes the Cosmetics Design Beauty Industry Awards the perfect platform to promote your powerhouse ingredient solution.
On top of that, the runners up and winners for each of the five ingredients categories will get industry-leading exposure at in-cosmetics Global, which is being held at the RAI Amsterdam, Netherlands, April 17 – 19.
The Cosmetics Design team is holding a dedicated award presentation ceremony at the RAI during the evening of April 18th, which will highlight the winners and runners up to an audience of targeted industry professionals, while we will also be publishing an article to announce all the winners, backed up by dedicated e-shots.
Below is the full list of ingredient categories:
The ingredient categories
Best Color Cosmetics Ingredient – The judges will be looking out for submissions that highlight ease of formulation, cost effectiveness, impact on the environment, efficacy and function and, in particular, special effects.
Best Skin Care Ingredient – Entries for this category should be at the cutting edge of innovation, include ease of formulation and cost effectiveness, have strong environmental attributes and be highly effective.
Best Hair Care Ingredient – Because of the highly segmented nature of the hair care market, the judges will be particularly looking out for functionality that helps give brands that all-important competitive edge, together with ease of formulation, environmental attributes and cost effectiveness.
Best Sensory Ingredient – This will be decided through the submission of two topical cosmetic formulation samples representing each ingredient and will be determined by criteria such as appearance and texture, appearance on skin, after feel and rate of absorption. This category will also require the submission of two formulation samples per entry, for the judges to test.
Best Use of an Ingredient in a Finished Product – In this category judges will be looking for ingredients or formulation technologies that help give brand owners an added edge in efficacy and function, provide overall benefits to the end user and are also relatively easy to formulate with.
