Gattefossé Asia Pacific gains ISO9001: 2015 certification

Personal care and specialty ingredients leader, Gattefossé Asia Pacific, achieves industry standard for quality management.

The developer, manufacturer and seller of personal care items announced it had met the requirements of the international standard on 20th February 2018.

What does this show?

Gattefossé Asia Pacific, an affiliate of the French-headquartered company, based in Singapore reviewed and honed its quality management systems to receive the industry nod. It indicates the high standards of precision, along with the accurate systems and processes reached.

After implementing a quality management system at their Saint-Priest (France) site, this APAC certification for Singapore supports the company's wider strategic aim to optimise the “quality management scope across the entire group”, Gattefossé Asia Pacific said in a recent statement.

Demonstrating quality

In a bid to strengthen its adoption of good manufacturing practices (GMP), this newly-received certification relating to high quality applies to a variety of business activities at Gattefossé Asia Pacific including marketing, selling and managing global operations relating to its speciality ingredients and formulations for the beauty and health sectors.

Through its partnership with Stearates and fatty acid esters producer, Faci, also located in Singapore, the company’s activities are now both ISO9001: 2015 and GMP certified.

The 2015 version of the ISO9001 standard was released in September 2015 and emphasises the importance of an organisation’s strategic plans relating to quality. It also encourages a risk analysis approach for all processes and opportunities, taking into consideration any potential weaknesses and threats to its objectives.

Wider strategy initiatives

After demonstrating its development plans and showing its support and compliance with quality standards, Gattefossé Asia Pacific received its recognition from the SGS certification body on 12th December 2017.

Upholding this quality is led by the management team and involves the commitment to maintain existing systems. Aims should also be checked and updated on an ongoing basis to maximise performance and efficiency throughout the company.

“This initiative demonstrates Gattefossé’s desire to have a truly international quality management policy and to ensure that all its customers’ needs are listened to carefully and that operations are conducted to the highest standard. It’s also a sign of our ongoing search for continuous improvement at the group level", carved Jean-Pierre Laforet, Group Director of Industrial Operations, Gattefossé.
