Skin Inc expands personalised skin care opportunities online

The beauty tech advocate prepares to expand its e-commerce channel and drive growth by welcoming new leadership member.

Skin Inc, a leader in innovation, is prioritising its e-commerce operations to improve access to customised skin care for global consumers.

E-commerce next-gen

To date, there have been over a million skin identity check-ups completed via the company’s website. Following this reach and engagement, the brand now focuses on utilising its proprietary database to engineer new products that harness the personalisation trend.

To boost Skin Inc’s e-commerce presence, the company recently introduced Cooper McGuire as a new member of its leadership team. Joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, his experience has focused on building, scaling and financing high-growth retail businesses.

Harnessing expertise

Involved in a number of early-stage companies, McGuire heads up Zalora Group as its co-founder and Chief Financial Officer. In building this company, Zalora has now turned into Asia-Pacific's leading group of online fashion destinations.

As Skin Inc prepares to launch its next stage in online development through its omnichannel marketing strategy, McGuire emphasised: "Building a true brand is the hardest thing to do in business, and Sabrina and the Skin Inc team have done that already. I'm excited to bring my experience of rapidly scaling an online business to the table, as we enter new markets Like China and invest more in the US."

Commenting on the latest addition to the team, Sabrina Tan, CEO and Founder, Skin Inc relayed: “He is an excellent leader with Asian and global experiences across a number of industries, and I am excited to have him join us to build Skin Inc's legacy of innovation and technology.”

BeautyTech: Preparing for the future

Building on her interest and passion in skin care, Sabrina Tan set up Skin Inc in 2008 to create personalised skin care solutions following the "one-size-fits-one", not "one-size-fits-all" approach. The beauty tech company combines patented encapsulation technology from Japan with advanced skin delivery systems.

It applies this to ingredients to produce highly concentrated serums with pure, active ingredients.

Skin Inc uses various active ingredients, capable of customisation, by utilising data on consumers' lifestyles, ages and genetics.

A strong supporter of technological innovation as the future of the beauty industry, Skin Inc prepares to up its integration of digital technology by innovating the mobile commerce arena. It will conduct “mobile-friendly skin checks and harnessing big data to fine-tune its products”, the company stated in a recent press release.
