On 18th May 2018, the chemicals supplier and distributor announced that it will join hands with leading preservation solution producer, Sharon Laboratories, to offer preservative solutions for personal care ingredients in India.
New collaboration
With an emphasis on sustainable, advanced and innovative systems, Sharon Laboratories has two global production facilities that contain cutting-edge analytical and microbiological technology.
This newly-entered agreement between Azelis and Sharon Laboratories will seek to enhance these operations. The agreement is effective immediately and will be in addition to its existing agreements with Australia and the UK.
Specialities strategy
Talking about the move, which represents a partnership expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, Aparna Khurana, Managing Director India, Azelis, stated: “The addition of this product range enhances our current portfolio, fitting well with our strategy to focus on specialities and creating value for our Asia Pacific customers and we are delighted to now offer Sharon’s preservatives to the Indian market.”
Naama Eylon, Business Unit Manager, Sharon Laboratories commented on the importance of Azelis’ “ability to offer customer service and satisfaction through their experience and knowledge of the products and applications”.
“We believe Azelis will contribute substantially to delivering high-quality service to our customers in India, thanks to a dedicated local sales team specialised in personal care,” Eylon added.
Expanding APAC presence in India
Azelis will open its three personal care application laboratories in India. Through this expansion, the company will offer the local Indian market support and assistance through formulation development, product analysis, technical training, and seminars held for both customers and suppliers.
Over the past five years, Azelis has grown substantially in APAC. It has built a presence in ten countries and established 19 laboratories.
In 2017, along with its acquisition of Chemcolor, Azelis entered into an exclusive distribution agreement in China with Tagra Biotechnologies.
Earlier in 2018, Azelis embarked on another exclusive agreement with Australian silicone innovator, Momentive. In an exclusive interview with Cosmetics Design Asia, Azelis revealed that Australia and New Zeland are key springboard markets that are expected to support its strategic growth plans.
Azelis Personal Care also won this year’s Cosmetics Fountain Innovation Award at the PCHi exhibition in China for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, it also received four industry innovation awards in 2017, including the Product Innovation Award at Ringier Technology Innovation Awards in China.
