Cosmoprof Asia 2018 puts the spotlight ‘on hair’

The 23rd edition of the leading B2B cosmetics industry event enhances its wide region appeal by focusing on ‘the entire Asia-Pacific beauty industry’.

Held in Hong Kong from 13th to 16th November 2018, this year’s Cosmoprof Asia will once again adopt its "1 Fair, 2 Venues" concept, with some notable additions.

Two venues; one interaction

The AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) will showcase avant-garde products and solutions and explore raw materials and ingredients, machinery and automation, primary and secondary packaging, contract manufacturing and private labels from the 13th to 15th November 2018.

While, from the 14th to the 16th November, the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will see companies and professionals from the perfumery and cosmetics, beauty salon and spa, hair, nail and accessories, naturals and organics sectors enter its doors.

A total of 2,877 exhibitors coming from 54 countries and regions, 25 international pavilions and 83,793 professionals— 60,000 of which attended the 2017 edition of Cosmoprof Asia — are expected.

Hair on

Hair will create a buzz at this year’s Cosmoprof Asia as its “On Hair” feature will be the spotlight event. The hair community will enjoy and take part in live demonstrations and shows at Cosmoprof Onstage, HKCEC. The organisers have teamed up with Asia Hair Masters Association (AHMA) in Hong Kong, which will host the Hong Kong Hair and Styling Arts Festival 2018. Taking place on 14th and 15th November, this will include a hair contest, awards ceremony and industrial summit.

Event highlights

Through its partnership with global design agency, centdegres, and selected exhibitors, this year’s event will create an exclusive prestige serum with dual moisturising and concealing skin imperfection capabilities in the shows beauty factory AWE space.

Key areas of interest include:

  • Cosmetics production. Cosmoprof Asia's previously launched an integrated project between the two exhibition spaces to offer insights into the production process of luxury cosmetics. This popular interactive experience, which follows the manufacturing route from design to technologies deployed will return for the event’s 2018 instalment.
  • Concept stores. Experiential shopping will be on show at HKCEC as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies will uncover the "concept store of the future".
  • Where customers meet product development. The influence of  Internet of Product (IoP) solutions are tapping into global consumer needs and are set to merge the customer experiences and product development to offer a seamless interaction.

Insights to propel industry

CosmoTalks, a series of presentation and roundtable discussions, will tackle a range of industry-relevant topics, from market and regulatory analysis in APAC countries to cutting-edge trends in Asia. Global leaders, market experts and insiders from the world of cosmetics will talk through the questions and considerations on the lips of the industry.

The core aim is to help understand the needs of local consumers and the impact of digital transformation, new technologies and social evolution on cosmetics.

CosmoForum, in HKCEC, will welcome visitors to its spa conference, natural and organic symposium and thematic seminars by trade organisations and experts. New make up techniques, nail trends, beauty treatments and product designs will take centre stage at the Cosmoprof Onstage in HKCEC.

Cosmoprof Awards Asia and Cosmopack Awards Asia, created in collaboration with Beautystreams, will be back to celebrate companies for their outstanding products and contributions to the cosmetics industry. The winners will be judged on categories including brand awareness, formulation, packaging, design and technologies.
