The company has plans to distribute Moonshot in Japan through major beauty stores such as Loft and Tokyu Hands, as well as popular discount chain store Don Quijote.
In Indonesia, the brand will be sold in beauty store C&F and shopping mall Grand Indonesia, while Moonshot will be available in Thailand through drugstore Everyboy.
The company has not yet announced its retail plans for Philippines yet.
Star powered marketing
A subsidiary of Korea’s leading entertainment conglomerate YG Entertainment, YG Plus plans to tap into its star power to promote Moonshot in Thailand.
LISA, a Thailand-born member of YG Entertainment K-pop group Black Pink, was chosen as the brand’s global ambassador this year and helped market Moonshot in the Chinese market.
YG plus plans to feature LISA once again as part of its marketing in Thailand.
The cult beauty brand is known for producing vibrant and edgy colour cosmetics regularly seen on YG idols. Some of their best-selling cosmetics include their Jelly Pots and Cream Paints.
Aside from make-up, Moonshot also offers a selection of skincare products which include moisturisers, sun protection and cleansing products.
This year, YG Plus has been pushing to strengthen its presence overseas. This latest expansion comes after Moonshot entered Hong Kong in January and China in May of this year.
Before that, Moonshot was sold in Singapore and Malaysia through beauty retail giant Sephora.
