Vantage was platforming a formulation in the Innovation Zone that highlighted two of the biggest trends in the Latin American industry right now - natural ingredients and hair care. According to the company, its Coconut-Advocado Hair Milk a stable, water-thin, oil-in-water emulsion designed specifically for use in hair care. It utilizes oils with known benefits for hair, and is prepared by ultrasonic cavitation along with a plant-based, biomimetic phospholipid resulting in the formation of micro-droplets.
Exhibiting in its native country, Beraca was promoting a range of natural based solutions, including its Andiroba Repellent System, a insect repellent based on the properties of Andiroaba oil, which significantly cuts back the need for DEET. The company was also highlighting its latest Amazon-sourced ingredient Tucuma Butter, together with its Active Revitalization Body System, which includes Acai and Maracuja to target tattoo care.
Also exhibiting in its home country, Chemyunion was highlighting a number of initiatives, including a prototype for a wax-based make-up remover, as well as the brand new launch of its hair styling and moisturization ingredient, Thermoshiel - an ingredient that is designed to enhance hair straightening, while at the same time locking in moisture and preventing damage.
France-based ingredients provider Gattfosse chose in-cosmetics Latin America as the launching pad for its first ever hair care ingredient, Definicire. The ingredient is said to mimic the beneficial conditioning andprotective properties of hair sebum without the greasiness. It is based on esters from jojoba seeds that are reacted with polyglycerol to improve spreading on the hair surface and to ensure a homogeneous film. The company sayd its tests demonstrate that hair regains hydrophobicity and is protected from humidity and frizz.
Givaudan was demonstrating a number of its recently launched technologies, which including PrymalHyal Ultrafiller in the Innovation Zone. This ingredient is designed to replace the need for injection-style fillers by providing a plumping effect for the skin that targets fine lines and wrinkles thanks to the inclusion of hyaluronic acid
Rahn was platforming its recent major launch, Seboclear, which it was also featuring in the Innovation Zone on the show floor. The ingredient is said to effectively reduces existent skin impurities and optimises the skin appearance and is appropriate for products targeting impure skin; face cleansing, tonics, spot pads, acne swabs, cover up pens, hair lotions. Suitable for O/W and W/O emulsions and gels.
Pictured is Ryan Smith - global strategic Marketer for hair care, who was platforming more than a dozen formulation concepts all created using Dow ingredients, at the event, many targeting the hair care category. Those concepts targeted the trend for individuality and diversity and included a fast dry hair spray targeting less heat damage and to speed up hair drying, together with its 'Ocean Waves' leave-on formulation, designed to enhance curls.
Germany-based ingredients provider Symrise, was promoting its SymHair Shape and Color and Hydrolite 5 Green lines at the Innovation Zone. Both are new launches and both are being targeted at the Latin America market in particular.
