The new production plant is the Spanish company’s fourth facility in Southeast Asia, following Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
“Our expansion in South Asia is a cornerstone of our 2023 business plan for both our flavour and fragrance divisions. It comes as a natural consolidation of the company’s success in the region,” said Ramón Fernández, CEO of Iberchem Group.
“Furthermore,” he added, “This announcement stands as a testimony to our commitment to our local customers.”
Facility features
Located in the industrial area of Bang Phli, the new production facility is strategically placed near the Bangkok’s main airport.
“This new facility will allow the company to capture swiftly the evolving needs of this fast-growing and fast-changing market,” said Fernández.
In a statement, the company explained that the facility was designed to allow customers in the region to benefit from the group’s expertise and gain additional insight.
The new facility houses a creative centre, a production plant, and a commercial office, which work together to promote the fragrances and flavours divisions of the Iberchem Group, Scentium and Iberchem.
With all these housed under one facility, customers can now depend on a dedicated local team of professionals that have access to fully-equipped application and analytics laboratories.
The introduction of a new production plant will increase the competitiveness of Iberchem by increasing its agility and offering customers even more efficient delivery.
Fragrance manufacturers that have a presence in Thailand include International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), Bell Flavors and Fragrances, as well as Givaudan.
Investments are key
Earlier this year, Iberchem expanded its research and development facilities at its head office in southern Spain, just shortly after the company announced the appointment of a new technologies director.
The facilities were developed to broaden and enhance the company’s R&D operations and accommodate almost 100 specialists, which include perfumers, lab technicians, evaluators, as well as applicational specialists.
Fernández said then that investing in their facilities is key in maintaining the company’s “enviable” growth over the last decade, and that it will continue to be a pillar in fulfilling the objectives of the group’s strategic plans for the near future.
“It demonstrates our commitment to anticipating the needs of our clients, providing them with the best service possible,” he added.
