Health and beauty retailer Watsons marks official entry into the Vietnamese market with the launch of first store in Ho Chi Minh City.

The flagship store is located on the first floor of the 68-storey Bitexco Financial Tower in central Ho Chi Minh City.

“We are very excited about opening our first Watsons store in Vietnam,” said Rod Routley, regional managing director - Asia, A.S. Watson Group. “Watsons is looking forward to building long term relationships with Vietnamese customers and helping them to ‘Look Good and Feel Great’.

Best of both worlds

Watsons hopes that it will become the new health and beauty destination for Vietnamese consumers.

“As the flagship brand under A.S. Watson Group, Watsons is backed up by global supplier network which enables us to offer exciting new products from international renowned brands,” said Routley.

The new 239-square metre “concept” store offers consumers over 6,000 products and features a make-up station for consumers to discover new products.

Aside from in-store products, the Watsons’ online store will expand over time to feature over 8,000 products.

Additionally, Routley added that Watsons will be bringing in its own in-house brands and exclusive merchandise to provide beauty-savvy consumers in Vietnam with an abundance of choice.

With the flagship store and the online platform, Watson hopes to give Vietnamese consumers a modern health and beauty shopping experience.

Routley said: “Vietnam has a reputation of being a highly connected and trend-aware market and we are sure that our exciting e-Commerce platform combined with our advanced technology will bring personalised and attractive offer to the increasingly modern Vietnam consumer.”

Membership perks

Alongside the launch of the flagship, Watsons has rolled out its signature membership programme in Vietnam.

The Watsons Card provides consumers with a variety of tailor-made offers while enjoying point redemption and access to special members-only events. Membership usually costs VND70,000, but will be free during the launch period.

“Watsons is confident of the Vietnam market and we will continue to expand to enhance the customer connectivity, we take pride in allowing the Vietnamese customers to ‘Look Good Feel Great’ by bringing more quality products and service to them,” said Routley.

Hong Kong-based A.S. Watson Group, part of multinational conglomerate CK Hutchison Holdings, operates Watsons in Asia and Europe.

Watsons currently has over 7,200 stores across its Asian and European markets. Vietnam is its 13th operating market.
