Shiseido has launched a new skin care line-up with state-of-the-art technology designed to protect skin against damage from environmental factors.

The company unveiled these new products under its eponymous brand as well as prestige label, Clé de Peau Beauté. These products will be showcased at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2019.

“Thanks to cutting-edge innovation, our latest skincare launches from Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté are able to address multiple skin concerns, perfectly complementing consumers’ busy and active lifestyles,” said Elisabeth Jouguelet, vice president of marketing and innovation, Shiseido Travel Retail.

According to Generation Research, skin care is the largest segment of the perfumes and cosmetics category in travel retail, representing 47% of the category in 2018. Additionally, it was the fastest growing segment, with sales increasing by 36% in 2018 compared to the previous year.

Shiseido’s own skin care portfolio say sales jump by 44% over the same period, with the Asia Pacific region leading the way.

This performance boosted Shiseido Travel Retail to the fourth position in the global travel retail skin care rankings.

New products launches

Three of the new products will be launched in travel retail under the Shiseido brand in 2020.

The White Lucent Illuminating Micro-Spot Serum is an updated formula which contains the firm’s ReNeura Technology+ and SAKURA-Bright Complex to suppress the development of dark spots caused by sun exposure.

Suitable for mature skin, Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream and addresses the root cause of sagging, dark spots and deep wrinkles. It also contains the ReNeura Technology+™ and KURENAI-TruLift Complex, which helps increase skin resilience and elasticity.

Shiseido’s Global Suncare The Perfect Protector, protects against UVA and UVB rays as well as urban pollutants and dryness. The “ocean-loving formula” contains Shiseido’s SyncroShield Technology, which creates a UV protection veil that becomes stronger with heat and water.

This year, Clé de Peau Beauté will be relaunching a reformulated version of its star product, The Serum. It contains the new Skin-Empowering Illuminator complex and an algae complex that encourages skin regeneration.

The Serum is part of the brand’s new Key Radiance Care skin care set, which contains six more skin care products with the Skin-Empowering Illuminator complex.

“We believe [the new products] will help maintain the fantastic growth of our skincare portfolio in global travel retail and we are very excited to present them to our customers at this year’s TFWA.” Jouguelet said.
