With new scent Peach Fuzz, the perfumers said they wanted to express a “sense of skin and feel-good notion of intimacy, as well as safety and comfort"

The Dutch/Swiss ingredients company joined forces with colour trends/design company PANTONE to launch new scent: Peach Fuzz Eau de Parfum and a scented candle.

PANTONE’s Colour of the Year for 2024 is PANTONE® 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, which is described as “a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul” and is set to be used to “stir a sense of community and belonging in all of us.”

According to dsm-firmenich, its new scent creation Peach Fuzz Eau de Parfum (EDP) and the matching Peach Fuzz Scented Candle feature “a velvety, gentle peach fragrance whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.”

The scent was created using EmotiON™ – the company's “multifaceted modular programme” that’s based on neuroscientific research and combined with consumer insights.

The ingredients company said this technology could support the creation of new fragrances that have scientifically validated emotional, psychological, and physical benefits.

"A touchable peach fragrance with a skin sensation"

The perfumers behind Peach Fuzz EDP, Alexandra Monet and Steve Guo, said they wanted to express a “sense of skin and feel-good notion of intimacy, as well as safety and comfort."

We were inspired to create a touchable peach fragrance with a skin sensation,” they revealed.

Meanwhile, Chief Consumer & Innovation Officer, Perfumery & Beauty at dsm-firmenich, Matteo Magnani, said the partnership gave the business “the opportunity and the challenge to connect our creativity, science, and innovation capabilities to what’s going on in the world and translate it into the universal language of fragrance.”

He added that the Peach Fuzz EDP and scented candle showcased “some of our best innovations.”
