Beauty tech firm GESKE is banking on the personalisation trend as it upgrades its AI-backed app, while also looking to boost distribution across APAC.

With a portfolio comprising more than 250 products and over 150 proprietary technologies, as well as its AI-powered mobile app, the German company says it provides consumers with the tools and guidance needed for comprehensive at-home skin care.

Its app-guided multifunctional devices help users customise routines catered to their skin’s needs. For instance, the app utilises an algorithm to make product recommendations and design skin care routines for each individual.

These include some 56,565 video tutorials, developed in partnership with dermatologists to allow users to achieve desired effects from the comfort of their home.

“In recent years, customisation and personalisation have gained popularity among consumers seeking to embrace their individuality and enhance their unique features. GESKE resonates with this demand for personalised experiences, and aims to empower consumers in making informed choices that reflect their preferences and values.

“Acknowledging the immense pressures due to unrealistic social media standards, misleading promises, and highly priced services, we are dedicated to democratising beauty and delivering tangible results to a wider audience. With an average price point of US$49.95, our devices are up to 90% cheaper than comparable products on the market,” Ekaterina Cherne, Brand Director at GESKE, told CosmeticsDesign-Asia.

Additionally, Cherne said that the current success of GESKE’s products and app is “only the beginning”, and that the firm is invested in advancement of its technologies.

“The upcoming releases of the GESKE app, powered by augmented reality, promise to elevate user experience by offering even more personalisation.”

Some of the new intuitive features were revealed to be personalised progress tracking for each user to foster consistent user engagement; expanded data on skin conditions to address the most pressing concerns; dynamic content to establish direct dialogue with users, and offer recommendations and routine scheduling tailored to individual needs; home screen widgets for users to stay informed about their skin’s status and to-dos even when they are not actively using the app; and Siri and Google Assistant integration to seamlessly manage skin care routines that accommodate users’ schedules.

Portable spa

GESKE believes that its numerous accolades, including the German Innovation Award and the CES Innovation Award, are a recognition of its efforts in “making professional high-tech devices and the transformative power of beauty accessible for all”.

Apart from face and body devices that are suitable for people aged above 14, its product range also consists of cosmetic formulas specially developed to pair with the devices to optimise the results.

These products prevent and address various skin problems, such as uneven texture, oily skin, impurities, fine lines, eye bags, and dark circles.

Among the devices, the key products include Sonic Warm & Cool Mask 9 in 1, a multifunctional device with a high level of efficiency — the pores are opened via a warming metal surface, while 12 different massage rhythms help revitalise the skin and create a plumping anti-ageing effect. After 90 seconds, a cooling function is activated, which locks in the ingredients and closes the pores again.

The Sonic Facial Brush 5 in 1 is equipped with SmartSonic Pulsation technology for dirt and debris removal to deeply cleanse the skin, prime it for absorption of skin care products, combat initial signs of skin ageing, and provide a soothing massage.

In response to the microneedling trend, GESKE has developed the MicroNeedle Face & Body Roller 9 in 1, whereby the fine microneedles, each measuring 0.3mm in length, gently stimulate cell renewal to diminish fine lines, improve skin texture, and boost radiance. The cooling roller soothes the skin and promptly reduces any redness that occurs.

According to Cherne, the company plans to further expand its array of devices in the future, including the launch of “GESKE Health Tech”.

Extending presence in APAC

GESKE is currently available in 131 countries, with markets in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region including South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Its devices are sold via its website, e-commerce platform Amazon, and selected distributors. They can also be found in department stores, specialty chain stores, duty free shops, pharmacies, skin clinics, spas, and beauty salons.

“We are actively working on expanding our distribution in APAC, and forging partnerships with both local and international retailers.

“The feedback at major B2B beauty industry events, such as CosmoProf in Hong Kong and Mumbai, has been incredibly encouraging. We are excited to continue building on this positive reception and bringing GESKE’s beauty tech innovations to even more people across the APAC market,” Cherne added.
