Cult favourite pharmacy brand Caudalie will unveil a new flagship store in Kuala Lumpur at the end of November.

This would give consumers in the region the opportunity to experience the brand’s story in a fresh and new way.

“We wanted to find a home for the brand in the region after over 10 years here,” said Jean-Christophe Samyn, general manager of South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Caudalie.

Samyn revealed to CosmeticsDesign-Asia that the new store would feature treatment rooms where shoppers can experience Caudalie facial treatments.

The brand is well-known for the development of its Vinothérapie treatments which can be experienced in its luxury spas in France and Spain. It also offers a taste of the spa treatments at its boutique-spas worldwide.

Additionally, the Kuala Lumpur store will also carry exclusive products that would only be available on-site.

This will be Caudalie’s only freestanding store in SEA. In the wider Asian region, Caudalie has stores in China, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

However, this will not be the brand’s first time venturing into brick-and-mortar in the region.

In 2014, the brand opened its first boutique spa in Kuala Lumpur’s Bangsar Shopping Centre.

The French brand joins luxury skin care brands such as SK-II and Clé de Peau Beauté, which have unveiled flagship stores in the Malaysian capital this year.

New products next year

Caudalie was founded in 1995 by Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas. The brand is renowned for its use of natural ingredients, particularly grape-derived components, which are celebrated for their antioxidant properties. Today, the brand remains privately-owned by the family.

The brand's signature ingredient, resveratrol, is sourced from the vineyards of the Bordeaux region and is a key component in many of its anti-ageing products.

The founders were recently in Singapore to meet media and influencers where Mathilde revealed that fans of the brand can expect a new skin care series focused on longevity next year.

“We'll launch a brand-new collection. It's all about longevity, how to make your skin cell younger longer, and how to correct the ten signs of aging. It will be super interesting,” she said.

Additionally, the brand will introduce an upgraded version of its hero product, the Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum.

“It is going to be enhanced with new active ingredients that will be even more effective against blemishes and breakouts,” said Mathilde.

Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum contains Viniferine, an ingredient exclusive to the brand. According to the brand, it is 62 times more effective than vitamin C when it comes to inhibiting tyrosinase.

“We worked for 20 years with the University of Pharmacy of Bordeaux and then 10 years with Harvard Medical School, and that's how we created and found unique patterns. Those are molecules that you don't find in any other brands that make us completely unique,” said Mathilde.

According to the brand it is the number one anti-dark spot product in France with one bottle sold every thirty seconds.
