The research of the last two decades has defined a crucial role of cellular senescence in the physiology of skin, and senescent cells have been detected in condition such as skin aging. The presence of senescent cells is detrimental in the context of aging and identifying strategies to prevent senescence induction or reduce senescent burden in the skin could broadly benefit the aging population. Results from a clinical study will be presented, revealing novel insights into the relationship between senescent cells and facial aging skin.
