The brand’s parent company, The Founders signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the South Korean ODM major in October to utilise the technology.
Coincelle was described by Cosmax as a coin-shaped delivery system with a particle size of less than 50 nanometres in width and four to six nanometres length.
Its size allows for effective penetration of the skin's stratum corneum.
The Coincelle delivery system ncorporates a dense bilayer structure that securely encapsulates active ingredients within its lipid layers.
This helps active ingredients maintain stability even under fluctuating temperature and light conditions.
According to Cosmax, it will collaborate with The Founders to expand the use of this technology.
With the MOU, the firms will collaborate on using the technology to effectively deliver ceramide ingredients and purse joint patents.
“We have decided to collaborate with The Founders in order to expand the use of our independently developed coin cell technology. We will continue to actively pursue open R&I with our customers and partners with excellent solutions and showcase our cutting-edge technologies,” said Cosmax in a press statement.
The Founders added: “We expect that through this agreement, we will be able to expand our lineup of new products and broaden the range of choices for our customers. We will continue to work to increase customer satisfaction and promote the excellence of K-beauty in the global market.”
According to the firms, the Coincelle technology will debut in a ceramide cream that will launch soon.
In the next coming months, the companies will also introduce a brand-new skin care line that utilises the Coincelle technology for ceramide delivery.
The Founders is a South Korean brand builder that has developed pet care brand Project 21 and hair care brand Fromlabs in addition to Anua.
Anua has gained global recognition for its minimalist approach to beauty and use of natural ingredients such as heartleaf extract.
It was previously reported that Anua was expanding its presence in Europe with plans to roll out to 120 UK Boots outlets as it worked to increase its global footprint.
The brand launched with Boots online a month before and its products achieved record sales among the K-beauty brands in Boots.
According to top K-beauty retailer, Olive Young, Anua was one of the top brands among UK consumers shopping on Olive Young Global.
